Vitality AI Health April 2026 product update: new features including blood work parsing, challenge chat, and Motivation Center

What's New in Vitality AI Health: April 2026

A note from Kevin

April was the biggest month we have had since launch. We shipped over 90 updates, and for the first time the app is starting to feel like what I originally set out to build: a single place where all of your health data actually talks to each other. A lot of what landed this month came directly from user feedback: people manually typing biomarker values from lab PDFs, people who wanted to talk to their challenge opponents, people losing track of a dozen supplements. I heard those requests, and we built for them. If you want the backstory on why I built this platform at all, it is over at Why I Built Vitality AI Health. And if you want to understand what your VAI Score is actually measuring, that explanation lives at What Your VAI Score Actually Means.

The five features worth knowing in depth

Automated blood work parsing

Blood tests are the richest data source in the app, and they were also the most painful to enter. Uploading a PDF and then typing in every biomarker value by hand is the kind of friction that stops people from doing it at all. We built automated blood work parsing so that when you upload a lab PDF, Vaya Chat reads the panel, pulls out every biomarker, and puts that data directly into your health profile. The first time your TSH, ferritin, and glucose all appear in your dashboard within seconds of dropping in a Quest or LabCorp PDF, it changes your relationship with the feature entirely.

Challenge chat

Challenges have always been structured around data: sleep scores, step counts, nutrition consistency. What was missing was the ability to actually talk to the other people in the challenge. Challenge chat adds live conversations to any active challenge so participants can check in, share what is working, and stay motivated through the weeks when momentum drops. We built it because accountability is a real driver of behavior change, and a leaderboard without a way to communicate felt like half a feature. The chat is scoped to the challenge itself and goes away when the challenge ends, so it never clutters the rest of the app.

Motivation Center

The Motivation Center surfaces nudges based on what is actually happening in your data. If your sleep quality dropped three nights in a row, the app notices. If you hit your supplement consistency goal for seven consecutive days, that surfaces too. We built this because there is a meaningful difference between a generic "time to log your workout" notification and one that says your recovery score is low so today might be a better rest day. The goal is for every nudge to feel specific and earned, not like noise you learn to dismiss.

Supplement Photo Capture (coming soon)

This feature is in testing but close enough to announce. Snap a photo of any supplement bottle and AI extracts the product name, dosage, and ingredient list automatically. We built it because supplement logging still requires you to know what is in a product before you can enter it. Most bottles have small print, long ingredient lists, and inconsistent dosage language. The photo capture path reduces that to a single tap. More details and a release date are coming.

AI citations linking to source studies

Vaya Chat now links directly to the research studies behind its answers. When the app tells you that elevated homocysteine is associated with cardiovascular risk, you should be able to see the paper that says so. Citations appear inline in the response, so you can verify the reasoning without leaving the conversation. Health information without a source is just an opinion, and we wanted to fix that.

Other improvements

Share cards let you post milestones to social media from inside the app. Milestone tracking automatically marks personal records and login streaks. Wearable integrations now cover Apple Health, Oura, Whoop, Garmin, Fitbit, and MyFitnessPal, all feeding into your health profile and VAI Score. The health profile itself has been redesigned to give a cleaner view of biological markers and goals. Challenges now support multi-mode scoring so groups can compete on consistency, improvement percentage, or absolute metrics. Pricing is $10 per month or $89 per year, with code VITALITY20 bringing the annual price to $69. Apple In-App Purchase is live for iOS. And the blog you are reading launched this month, with articles on biological age, AI health privacy, and wearable comparisons.

Coming soon

Gut health tracking is next in line and is the most-requested feature we have not shipped yet. Reproductive health biomarkers are in development, including cycle-based data and hormonal context for the VAI Score. Early work is underway on imaging and scan support so DEXA and similar results can come into your profile. Expanded substance logging will add support for peptides and off-label compounds that the current flow does not handle well. Simplified supplement forms will clean up the ambiguity around dosage units and multi-ingredient products.

The app is $10 per month or $89 per year ($69 with code VITALITY20). Every feature above is available on all plans.
